Ecolabelling Sweden is a non-profit company. However we charge application and licence fees.

Application Fee:

When applying for an Ecolabel licence you will be charged an application fee. The fee covers the administration of the application as well as an on-site audit which must be carried out before the licence can be approved.

Should you wish to add more products to the licence once it has been approved or in any way change the composition of the products included in the licence, an expansion fee will be charged.

The licence is valid until your product's criteria are revised, which normally occurs every four years. In order to keep your Ecolabel licence, you need to re-apply and will then be charged a renewal fee.

Annual licence fee:

Once the licence is approved, an annual licence fee based on the Ecolabelled product's turnover, is charged. The fee gives you the right to use the Nordic Ecolabel logo on your products and in your marketing. Please note that the minimum fee will be charged even in the case of no sales.

Using the Nordic Ecolabel in other countries:

Once your licence is approved it is also valid in other countries. However, in order to sell and market your Ecolabelled product in the rest of the Nordic region a registration in the specific country is required. The registration itself is free of charge but licence fees will be charged in all Nordic countries where your product is sold.

In order to facilitate sales of Ecolabelled products on the entire Nordic market, a common Nordic fee structure is currently being developed. Should your product group already be included in this system, your license will automatically be approved for the other Nordic countries and registration of the product in these countries is not necessary. You must however notify the Nordic Ecolabel of which countries you intend to sell the product and continue to report the product's turnover in each Nordic country.
