Funds that have met the new requirements
In February 2022, new stricter requirements were launched for Nordic Swan Ecolabelled investment products. As a result, it has been an intense period for our license holders who had until March 31, 2023, to re-demonstrate that their products meet the new stricter requirements and thus maintain their Swan labelling.
Renewing their Nordic Swan Ecolabel license involves a significant amount of work for fund companies, who must document in detail their compliance with the criteria's four different sustainability areas - inclusion, exclusion, active ownership, and transparency. With the stricter requirements, there have been significant changes in all areas, where the Nordic Swan Ecolabelled funds, in turn, have needed to demonstrate, among other things:
- Exclusion of additional activities such as exploitation and drilling, linked to the extraction of fossil fuels.
- Ensuring that companies in industries with high greenhouse gas emissions demonstrate a clear pathway towards green transition.
- Ensuring that companies in industries with a significant impact on biodiversity clearly demonstrate how this is managed throughout the value chain.
Out of around 80 investment products, in the end, there were about 60 that still have the Swan label.
We at Nordic Ecolabelling would like to congratulate the following actors and their renewed license(s) (* = product available in Sweden):

A Swan-labelled fund is managed in such a way that it has the opportunity to influence companies and financial markets in a more sustainable direction. These requirements and the certification process cover the investment fund on an overall level and are, therefore, no guarantee for each individual holding. The Swan label and its’ requirements do not cover financial risks or returns and should not be seen as investment advice.
