The Nordic Swan and the EU taxonomy
Sustainable finance plays a key role in the transition to climate neutrality in the EU by 2050. The plan is to mobilise at least €1 billion for sustainable investments during this decade.
This requires systematic sustainability work from companies and industries. At the same time, the financial sector can contribute through its impact on capital flows, for example through greener funds, including Nordic Swan Ecolabelled investment funds.
The taxonomy
Learn moreThe EU Taxonomy is a cornerstone of the EU Sustainable Finance Action Plan. It is a classification system for sustainable economic activities and aims to create a common understanding of which economic activities and investments can be considered sustainable – in line with the EU long-term climate and environmental objectives.
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel can be used as a tool to meet the EU taxonomy, for example, when building new homes, schools and offices, or when renovating buildings.
