The product group includes interior panels and mouldings, which are typically used in walls, subfloors, ceilings, as well as being used in interior design and the production of furniture. Examples of panels: wood-based panels, high pressure laminate (HPL), compact laminate, cross laminated timber (CLT), glued laminated timber (glulam), composite construction panels, gypsum plasterboard, cement-based panels as well as acoustic ceiling- and wall panels.
Nordic Swan Ecolabel panels and mouldings for interior use have a reduced environmental and climate impact throughout their lifecycle – and meet strict requirements for recycled materials, chemicals, and quality, promoting circular economy.
The requirements include:
Use of a high proportion of renewable and/or recycled materials.
Use of renewable wood that is legally harvested and traceable. Furthermore, at least 70% is sourced from certified forestry.
Environmental and health properties of chemicals used in manufacturing of the product and in any surface treatment. Among others, the use of antibacterial substances and flame retardants are prohibited.
Limits for emissions of formaldehyde and organic solvents.
Limits for energy consumption in the production of the product.
Compliance with harmonised standards in accordance with the Construction Product Regulation (EU/305/2011) or voluntary CE marking according to ETA.
